Nutrition tip of the week

How many times have you thought to yourself “in order to lose weight I have to eat less”?

Crazy enough it’s quite the opposite. What most of us don’t realize is that when we try to eat less we actually create stronger cravings later in the day because we have underfed our body during the first half of the day.

Focusing on quality well-rounded meals versus snacking or always trying to eat less we will actually create more satisfaction in our day which will make it easier on us to continue choosing quality later in the day.

By choosing to add more fiber and protein with each meal we give the body the right nutrients to stay full longer and get the good stuff it needs…..especially fiber which the western diet tends to be low on.

– Focus on meals vs snacks

– Have all 3 elements: protein, carbs and healthy fats

– Eat at least 2 colors a day (from fruits and veggies)
